WHO WE ARE

SENA is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered in England & Wales [Charity No.1198001].

The mission of SENA is to encourage professional contacts between clinicians and clinical neuroscientists in the South and South East of England for educational and didactic activities.

The neurosciences include neurology, neurosurgery, neurophysiology, neuroradiology, neuropathology and related disciplines and subspecialities.

Membership of SENA is the Consultants, Registrars and Fellows in the neuroscience centres at St. George's, Imperial College, University Hosptals Sussex, Southampton, Oxford, King's College, The Royal London and The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

Biannual Meetings

The South of England Neurosciences Association holds two meetings annually for

  • education in clinical neuroscience
  • discussion of research
  • establishing professional contacts

The aim of the SENA meetings is to deliver high quality, continuing medical educational and professional development to healthcare professionals in the neurosciences, and to provide a forum for networking and collaboration.

The meetings to date have all been approved by the Royal College of Physicians for up to 6 CPD credits.

Funding

A key aspect of the SENA meetings is that they are free to attend

In order to achieve this goal, we seek funding of the SENA meetings through educational grants and sponsorship off the pharmaceutical and devices industry as well as generous support by the hosting centres.

As a registered charity we accept donations via Just Giving.

Bursary

We are pleased to announce that up to two bursaries of £500 will be available each year. In recognition of their contribution, trainees who present a 'registrar' case at the SENA meeting will be entitled to apply for a bursary towards the cost of participating at a national or international meeting for education and/or research purposes.

Trainees will be eligible to apply for up to two years after presenting at a SENA meeting but can only be awarded a bursary once.
